Global Health Summer Workshop for High School Students

summer program

From June 12 through June 17, 2016, motivated high school students will have the opportunity to participate in a residential global health program on the UIUC campus. The program engages high school students that underwent a selective application process with the chance to dive deeper into global health concepts with the guidance of a faculty member doing exciting work in this field. Dr. Jenny Amos, who is affiliated with the department of Bioengineering at UIUC and a core member of the Interdisciplinary Global Health Scholars program through the Center for Global Studies, will be leading the course alongside Bioengineering MD/PhD student Kenny Long. Through field trips, hands-on activities, and engaging with a faculty member, students will have the opportunity to develop their interest in Global Health concepts and become inspired by the faculty and student leaders they will be immersed in interactions with during the workshop.
