Purpose: Surgery Grand Rounds is a monthly educational conference that results in direct improvements in patient care by providing surgeons and other allied health professionals with current information regarding the clinical, scientific, educational and professional aspects of surgical practice.

Target Audience: Physicians of all disciplines. Other allied healthcare professionals are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the epidemiology of worldwide surgical disease
  2. Recognize the critical shortage of surgical services
  3. Review the possible impact of tiered response
